What it does
The start relay plugs onto the side of the compressor and gives it the push it needs to start. It is a common, cheap fix for a fridge that has stopped cooling.

- Clicking from the back every few minutes but no cooling
- Compressor hums but will not run
- Burnt smell or rattle when you shake the relay
