About this part
What it does
The magnetron makes the microwaves that heat the food. Fitting it means working near a high-voltage capacitor, so leave it to a technician.
Signs it needs replacing
- Microwave runs and the plate turns but food stays cold
- Loud buzzing or humming while running
- Burning smell or sparks inside
